adidas America is a subsidiary of Germany-based adidas-Salomon AG, the world's second largest manufacturer of athletic equipment, footwear and apparel. In 1997, adidas acpuired Salomon, one of the world's leaders in sporting goods. The acquisition broadened our product range through the addition of three leading sports brands. Salomon for winter sports equipment, Taylor Made for golf equipment and Mavic for cycle components. Together, adidas and Salomon draw on a unique heritage of providing athletes with high quality products for top performance based on innovation and new technology.
adidas America oversees marketing, merchandising, distribution and sales of all adidas products in the United States. It employs roughly 1,800 people at its Oregon headquarters, various sales offices and in the field working in retail merchandising, sports promotion, or as tech reps.
In addition, adidas America's international division designs, develops, sets global marketing strategies for the categories most influenced by the U.S. market: Basketball, Training, Baseball, Football, Urban, Originals, Workout, and Walking. The categories most influenced by the European market are designed, developed, and marketed globally from the international headquarters in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Soccer, Running, Tennis, and numerous Olympic sports are headquartered at adidas-Salomon AG.

We will never equate quantity with quality. adidas founder, Adi Dassler was passionate about sports and committed to meeting the demands and needs of athletes. He gave them the unexpected, the little differences that made them more comfortable and improved performance.

The "Trefoil" was adopted as the corporate logo in 1972. It represents the heritage and history of the brand. In 1996, it was decided that the Trefoil would only be used on heritage product. Examples of product featuring the Trefoil logo include the Stan Smith, Rod Laver, A-15 Warm-Up and Classic T-Shirt. What does the "Trefoil" stand for? In January 1996, the Three-Stripes Brandmark became the worldwide adidas corporate logo. This logo represents performance and the future of the adidas brand. This logo is used in all advertising, printed collateral and corporate signage. |
